Bank of America Chicago Marathon

For the second year in a row, the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago (IWS) will participate as a charity organization in the 2013 Bank of America Chicago Marathon!  Our 2012 team of runners raised nearly $10,000, which translates into important funding for health and wellness programs at the IWS clinic. The Chicago Marathon will take place on Sunday, October 13th, and our group of charity runners, Team IWS, will be there. Sign up to run with us!

“ When I decided to run the 2012 Bank of America Chicago Marathon, the one thing I knew was that I wanted to run for a charity. The second thing I knew was that I wanted to find an organization that directly affected the lives of those around me. After I spent a Saturday morning last fall volunteering at the Infant Welfare Society clinic, I knew that the charity I wanted to run for was Team IWS. The donations raised through Team IWS go directly to helping families living in the same community as me, and I have personally witnessed how those donations benefit Chicagoans in need. I am looking forward to all that Team IWS can accomplish, and can't wait to spread the word about the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago! ”

“ I ran the Chicago Marathon for myself last year, as a personal challenge. I finished. This year, I wanted to run for someone other than myself, which is why I chose to run for Team Infant Welfare Society. Knowing that I represent something bigger than me helps on those tough training days, when the miles get harder and the runs get longer. I'm proud to represent Team IWS and am looking forward to the Chicago Marathon! ”
